Question regarding season 1 of The Walking Dead?

I was watching the first episode of the first season of Walking Dead and even though it's not that important, i was wondering: how come Rick had no idea about the zombies, giving the fact that before he got shot he saw all those corpses and killed that little girl?Question regarding season 1 of The Walking Dead?
Probably didn't remember, he was in a coma I believe
Hmm. it's hard to explain. What happened after that scene when he had to shoot the little girl, it flashed back to before he got shot. So when you saw Rick and Shane talking in the police car and then getting the call and going off, that was all flashback to before the zombies, showing how it all started right before he ended up having to shoot the zombie girl - including him waking up in the hospital, finding the father and son and then putting on his sheriff uniform to go to Atlanta. I know it's probably confusing. Then when you see him looking for gas again (after he's left the father/son), it goes back to current time.

Finding the corpses and shooting the little girl was shown first, but in the timeline, it actually happened after he left the other guy and his kid who told him what's happening.Question regarding season 1 of The Walking Dead?
i think they very beginning was not part of the main story. Maybe i was meant to be used as a idea to get the network to buy the series.



because really it has nothing to do with the story
