The walking dead show and comic contradictions?

I have read that there are stark differences between the show and the show and the comic. Could someone explain the differences and what is your opinion on the changes. The walking dead show and comic contradictions?
As I recall, the material from the comic moves pretty quickly from the roving group that Rick and his family are now in to a stationary settlement, the first of many.

** SPOILER ALERT **

Based on the most recent episode, the reason Shane is still around is- and I want to reiterate, this might reveal too much, so don't read on unless you really don't care- that they want to vilify him for awhile before he dies. In the show, he doesn't really seem so bad, but in the comic he's bad enough that a ten-year-old has no trouble shooting him dead. The writer is still dealing with the ongoing ramifications of what this kid has done, and film is very different from comics. Though told with pictures, a lot depends on the reader's imagination. In the comics, it wasn't hard to see Shane as the bad guy, but one look at him in the show's first episode had me thinking: Is this guy really that bad? So far, the answer has been no.

But last night I watched Shane do something truly despicable. I can see him turning into a man who might one day need killing.

What this means, of course, is that they're taking their time with the show, and telling the story in a way that is right for film. .

Only time will tell if things happen the same as they have in the comic. The walking dead show and comic contradictions?
SPOILER ALERT!

The BIGGEST DIFFERENCES

Comics, Shane dies. TV Show, Shane Lives.

also

Comics, Group never goes to the CDC. TV, they do.

I'm a big fan of the comics and have to say that I enjoy the tv show regardless of their differences. It would have been too easy had the tv series stayed with the plot of the comics. I also like the dynamics of Shane's character still being alive and the possibilities it can bring further down the road. The walking dead show and comic contradictions?
I look at the tv series as a MEANWHILE series or IN BETEEN the PANELS. Showing things that wasnt shown in the comic.

sure Shane died in the comic BUT he hasnt died YET on tv. IT doesnt mean he wont die does it?

Now there are differences like how Rick and Glenn met in ATL but overall DOES it really matter??? Its alllllllllllllllllll ENTERTAINMENT and doesnt take away from overall entertainment value.
