Walking Dead: Why would Sophia (and other Zombies) not be completely consumed?

How come some people get eaten almost completely? (meaning no body left to wander in a Zombie state) and others only get bitten (and thus turn to walking dead). Take Sophia for example. A child alone in the woods who wouldn't be able to fight off the zombies, wouldn't she be completely consumed rather than just a neck bite?Walking Dead: Why would Sophia (and other Zombies) not be completely consumed?
Many folks get bit, then manage to get away, only to turn into zombies later.



Others, like Otis, who can't run, get all eaten.
That is actually a good point but maybe she was just scratched first and then when the zombie started to bite her neck she turned into a zombie so she was no longer tempting...or maybe she turned into a zombie a lot faster than what was expected and that is why it was only a bite...its just a suggest but you do have a good point that is hard to explain. She was alone and one of those zombies could have easily taken her down. she probably got bitten, fought enough to get away and run. Also she was in a jungle, hitting a zombie with a big stone or sticks might have been a possibility.

Maybe the ones who got eaten completely were alone and running by themselves and the ones who got bitten had friends to fight off the zombie that bit them. As for Sophia I really don't know. Maybe she ran away after she got bitten. I really don't know
Well...I imagine that Otis was completely consumed since he couldn't walk/run away (b/c he was shot in the leg/foot/..?) Sophia could have been overtaken, fallen and got bit but got up and ran away. She's faster than the Walkers, especially if there was only one of them after her.
well you remember where deryl found the walkers and the doll? thats probobly where she got attacked and escaped up the steep hill so the walkers could get her, later otis goes there and rounds her up
You're over thinking the show. Enjoy it for what it is. Maybe she got bit, escaped and became a zombie later.
